Tokyo.

June 1st, 2010 by bronney

Had a nice trip to Tokyo with my mom and dad. Some said going on a trip with family is not as fun as with your friends. That’s just bullshit. I had so much fun with my family, especially when I see them having fun and trying so many new things that they haven’t tried before. It makes me cry.

This is the first time for them to be in Japan and already, they’re hooked on the same thing that hooked me when I first went. Hey both my mom and dad said the short skirts and legs on the street is awesome! There you go, no fun my ass! haha.

HKIFF 2010.

March 22nd, 2010 by bronney

Did a shoot for the HKIFF and the office. I wanted to do a set of “us at work” behind the scene stuff and got a go. Started with some awesome ballroom flashes to make sure the SB-900 is working properly. Then promptly turned it off. Half day of work isn’t so bad. Good training for the upcoming weddings too.

Wickedly cool this GF1 and micro-four-third format. See what a cctv “machine vision” lens can do.

winter olympics 2010.

February 18th, 2010 by bronney

The only game I am interested to watch is hockey. Too poor to get cable, I wonder if the companies here shows winter olympics at all here. I had to rely on a delayed experience on bit torrents. Luckily those are all in HD and not a bad watch on the Full HD monitor :)

Haven’t follow the game for so long now and almost all player names now don’t ring a bell anymore. The commentators, for the olympic games though is truly hardcore because now, not only do they say the names of the players but also the city, and team they belong to in the NHL. Play by play, not a single miss.

After first period here, I got excited enough to write this down. Tomorrow, it’s time to download the Canada vs. Norway game. Hockey, is one of the things that reminds me what a great country I grew up in. That, and the Canadarm? Wait.. Labatt Ice, oh Wayne Gretzky. Man.. you know how good “the great one” is? Try typing “Gretzky” in your blog and notice it isn’t underlined in red? That’s how great he is.

Love Magnet.

February 10th, 2010 by bronney

Usually, people ask me to shoot their wedding. But Rachel and Ser Young’s wedding was the one I ask first. I used to work with the bride when she’s still all pink cheeked fresh out of college and could never imagined her all gowned up. This shoot though, I flew all the way to Kuala Lumpur to do it. What strikes me most wasn’t just the way they look so good together, but the love Ser Young put into their wedding logo. When I got their invitation, I was touched by the logo and looked forward to being there, at last.

It was my first time in KL and sure wasn’t disappointed by the vibrant nature of the different cultures and people. To see the love birds have fun with real-time internet wedding broadcast and their parents in tears, was well worth the free upgrade to business class I got flying there :)

Michael Denee.

Did a photo shoot for Michael Denee’s men’s wear down in Central.  Quite a creative concept from Alex to have a band featuring the suits.  The place was total darkness with black walls and ceilings.  Not the best to bounce your flash but the High ISO performance of the Nikon D700 is just nutty.

This is where you see the difference between an APS-C and a FX. :)

This game’s so good I needed to buy it.  Recently I got in a discussion on PC games with a friend and he asked if I have many boxes at home.  I never told him actually, nowadays, I buy games off Steam.

This is the newly purchased.  Oh my goddess rally game yo :)   Enjoy.

Finished.

October 20th, 2009 by bronney

Finally finished my first wedding shoot.  It was a lot of fun and every time Lindsey and Peter thanked me I kept telling them the pleasure was mine.  It was really lovely shooting people in love.  Flowers are pretty, but when these people outshine the brightest flowers in the whole garden, you know something’s up.

When we were out shooting, there were other photographers doing their job too and we each gave a nod and checked out each others’ gears of course.  In fact, when we’re just about to head into the cave to take that kissing shot, a group just came out and the shooter told me, “it’s your shift buddy.”  That was cool.

Can’t wait till the next one :D

Many people say, “hey! it’s all fine and dandy to shoot for fun but once you start this for work, you’ll hate it..”  Most of these people, of course, don’t do whatever you’re gonna do for work and of course then, there’s no reason I listen to these noise.  There are also those who says, “hey! look at me!  I used to like shooting, but not anymore because I started charging money for it..”  If one thing I learned from my major, it was that there are ALWAYS people telling you no, and there are always people telling you yes.

Until you try this yourself, you’ll never know how it is going to be, for YOU.  And isn’t that what life is about?  Live life, talk when you’re 60. :)

Oh, thank you so much Lindsey & Peter, for letting me shoot your wedding.  I am enjoying it so far. :D
